H4 extension under process and a new h1b extension is being applied for principle h1b holder.

So, my H4 extension is still showing Case Received and the employer is applying for another principle H1b extension. I want to ask if H4 can apply with the h1b for the new extension?

What will happen to the previously applied h4 extension application?
