H4 conversion to H1 for husband

I am H1 holder and I am planning to bring my husband to US in H4.

Can he get a job here and convert his H4 to H1, is this possible… Please advice

As off now my husband is working for a Indian company and they dont want to travel so we are staying apart.

He can apply for H-1 through a company when the cap opens next. The next earliest date to apply H-1 is April 1, 2014 and the earliest date to start working is Oct 01, 2014.
