My H1B got selected on April’15 but yet to get approved. i was told in Nov’15 by law firm that mine is in security check. When i check the status in USCIS site, it still just says that case was received. Its already mid of Jan’16 and i’m worried. How long does this Security check usually takes and is it common?
Security checks take much longer time and there is no set SLA. Even if you upgrade to PP, it will not help as security clearance takes precedence. Normal petitions should get processed by April 1, but not so sure about the ones stuck in security clearance.
What happened to other petitions filed by this employer?
