H1B visa validity required for re-entering

Hi All,

I plan to travel out of the country to India from April 18th to May 2nd, 2022.

My current H1B visa expires on 09th September 2022 (have a valid stamp on my passport).

Would it be okay for me to travel overseas during the aforementioned period? And if we do the H1B extension after I come back to the US? I am told by some it’s okay, and some say you need at least 6months validity on an H1B visa stamp to re-enter.

Has anyone encountered this situation?

This is fine, no issue.

You can do H1B EOS application before leaving or after coming back, your choice. Even if you do it before travelling, it will keep processing while you are outside of the US.

This is not true. You can enter the US as far as your visa is valid, even on the day it expires! Visa is just a travel document required to enter the US.
