I am on my OPT extension and my OPT expires in March 2014.
I want to know when should I apply for H1 visa. Should I apply for it in 2013 or should I wait until 2014 March. I am really very confused at this time.
Will I still be able to work.

You should apply in 2013, so that there is no break in work. If you apply in 2014, then it would be applied in April 2014, when you will be on 60 day grace period. Although this would allow you to continue to stay in US during its processing, yet you will not be allowed to work.
