My nomination has been selected in this years lottery and haven’t heard any updated since one month, I know this may take some more time to get the final status but I have question my passport will expire on 23-Dec-2019 and I received new passport after my visa was filed so I didn’t submit it, what are the chances of getting approval/RFE ? I also have B1 visa which is valid till 2024, I had traveled to US for 3 months on B1 in 2014 just FYI.

Your passport information will NOT have any impact on the processing of the H1B. Passport is only used for identification of you and the case will NOT be adjudicated based on the passport validity…You just need to get a new passport, when you go for stamping, if it is expiring and then use that to enter US. Also, on a side note, you can use your valid B1 visa on old passport for travel in future for B1 visits.
