h1b visa process for non-stem students..

I am an Indian student studying MBA (enrolled on fall 2013)in U.S.I am worried about getting an h1b visa after graduation as my degree is not under STEM and can’t apply for OPT extension. I have an Indian work experience of 3 years in Information technology. What do you recommend ? I have found a potential employer in US right now …Can I apply for an h1b visa in April 2014?If so,under which quota (student quota or general quota). Can I delay the stamping of approved h1b visa till graduation ?

As posted elsewhere by me on this forum, try to get an academic H-1B which is cap independent rather than trying to make the quota. You will have to be part of a research project or employed in a company that collaborates with a University such as in a technology incubator for an academic H-1B (www.zyn.com/sbir).

Best wishes

Many people do MBA in US and apply H1B in masters H1B quota of 20K. This is very normal your’s in not special case.

I know atleast 20-30 people from my university
