H1B Visa Interview - Refused Under 221G White Slip

I received a 221G white slip during my H1B visa interview with the following option selected:

“Your application requires additional administrative processing.”

Consultancy or MNC: Consultancy
In-house or Client Project: In-house Project

I have the following queries and would appreciate your guidance:

  1. Can I still remain hopeful? Since I wasn’t asked to provide any documents, my petitioner will follow up with the embassy regarding what they have requested?
  2. What happens if my employer chooses not to respond? Would I have any way of knowing the status?
  3. Will this refusal create any issues for me when I apply for an H1B visa in the future?

Thank you in advance for your help and insights.

With admin processing, the consular officer typically will confirm your petition details with USCIS. There is nothing to worry about.

Typically they will request additional documents via 221g from the applicant.

Why do you think they will refuse your visa. Each visa application is processed independently and unless there was a fraud in past application, it doesn’t impact your future applications.
