H1B Visa Interview after 1 year from Petition Approval

Hi Saurabh,

This is with regard to my question earlier asked here

[http://redbus2us.com/documents-needed-for-applying-for-h1b-visa-how-much-does-it-really-cost-what-should-you-not-give/#comment-44553](http://redbus2us.com/documents-needed-for-applying-for-h1b-visa-how-much-does-it-really-cost-what-should-you-not-give/#comment-44553)

My H1B Petition got approved on March 2011, but my employer(Its a desi consultancy) did not send me for stamping till now. Recently, he has agreed to send me for stamping in July / August. Now my doubt is, as the petition is approved for 3 years only (till 2013), will i get stamping till 2013 only ? What should I do , if i want stamping for 3 years ?

The stamping will be given only for the validity of your H-1B petition. So, stamping will be given only until 2013.

You can get re-stamped after your H-1B extension for additional 3 years.

Thanks for your answer. Is there any limit on the number of times we can re-stamp ? i know that we can have extend h1b only upto 6 times. but is there any limit on the number of times we can go for re-stamping within this 6 year period ?

There is no such limit.

Thanks Saurabh. I really appreciate your efforts in clarifying our doubts. Hats off to you !
