H1B- visa extension with Change in Role

Hi,

Original H1B was filed with Role- A. I am working in same project with new Role-B. My Visa extension date is nearing. My employer is suggesting to apply for extension with New role.Can I apply visa extension with change in Role: B? Is there any impact? Please suggest..

They should file LCA w/ new role and then use it to file the extension for new role.

The right thing would have been new LCA and H-1 amendment soon after you moved from A to B.
