H1B Visa approved but cannot go due to personal exigencies.

Hi,

My H1B visa has been approved and I will have to soon appear for Visa interview.

My problem is that due to some personal issues I will not be able to travel to the US (maybe for 2 - 3 years) and also I may have to resign from my current job next year.

Will there be any legal implications if after getting the Visa stamped I resign from my current company? I was not made to sign any agreement or bond regarding the same.

What happens in these kind of scenarios?

Also, In my Visa interview if I tell this reason to the interviewer will it negatively affect my future visa applications?

You will not get any adverse implications.

But in visa interview don’t tell that you won’t be travelling. Just get the visa stamped and then don’t travel
