H1b to h4 COS n name mistake on 797

Hello,

I came to US in Apr 17 on h4 visa. I found a sponcer for my h1b and he filed for my h1b.

It got approved in Nov 17 . Although after receiving my I797 my employer found that my first name and last name on the 797 document is interchanged. In this case

,

  1. if my employer files an amendment for name change , how much time will it take for the name change?

2)if I travel to Indian now, can I come back on my h4 visa without using my h1b?

  1. Can I file a change of status from h1b to h4 ? I am not sure if that works as there is a discrepancy in the name?
