Currently, my husband and I are in the H1B grace period following his job loss, and our I-94 status is set to expire in September. Despite the delivery confirmation, we have not yet received a receipt notice from USCIS, nor has there been any deduction of filing fees from our account.
Given our situation, I would appreciate clarification on the following:
Extension of Grace Period: Are we permitted to stay beyond the 60-day grace period for H1B holders, considering that we have submitted a B2 change of status application before the expiration of our current status?
Receipt Notification: How and when can we expect to receive notification from USCIS confirming the receipt of our application?
