Hi, I had H4 drop box stamp recently and not yet travelled. Now my employer reached out to me, applying h1 cap exemption and asking me go for stamping(drop box/ interview) and to travel US. Please suggest if I can go for h1b stamping with valid h4 after petition approval or any other concerns
Yes, you can go for H1B stamping and enter on H1B visa which will change your status from H4 to H1B.
You may be able to just update the DS-160 ( pr submit a new) with H1B information and keep the same dropbox appointment.
