my H1B petition got approved in August-2013. awaiting papers from my employer in a day or two. Can any body tell me the procedure for moving ahead for stamping now. i heard that i need to apply in USCIS for apporintment…etc…

You need to go to US consulate in India’s website (I assume you are from India). They have the process outlined which includes completing DS-160 form, paying the bank fees, scheduling the appointment, going for biometrics and finally appearing for visa stamping.
There are few articles written in the main blog explaining the new process.
