h1B restamping for lost passport; 221G issued. Status says "refused" after one hour

Hi, I submitted by documents at dropbox for H1B restamping. I lost my passport and had to get the visa restamped as this one expires on Jul-2018 and need this to apply for renewal. I got a 221g letter with my passport asking for police report. i went for interview and they kept the passport. I came back and checked status within an hour and it say “Refused”. What does this mean? It was a simple case I thought but I am extremely stressed out

I did not read that they had our passport. Please wait patiently, as stated below.

Just wanted to update everyone on the status.

After status “refused” on 22-Mar (day of interview after 221g), the status got updated on Mar 25 as Administrative Processing, Issued on Mar 26th and I received my passport on 27th Mar with visa stamped.

My passport status is ready for pickup and my ceac status is refused what will be the result

You might have got a 221g. Go pick up your passport and it will have more details
