My application was picked up in H1B lottery and petition has been filed. I have received receipt notice and it shows case was received. I am still awaiting approval.
Meanwhile my STEM OPT is expiring on June 26,2020. My school tried to file my extension but I have been automatically approved CAP GAP extension till September 30,2020. So I can file my STEM OPT extension from October 1,2020. Shall I go ahead and file STEM OPT extension from Oct.1 2020. Does anyone has had any similar experience? I will be very grateful if I can get some advice.
Are you on OPT or STEM OPT extension ?
If you are on OPT and planning to apply for STEM OPT extension, you should do it right away before your OPT expires, then you will not be able to do it.
Discuss with your DSO and file accordingly.
