My friend is on h1b visa valid till sep 2028 and approved i140 from previous employer1. priority date is sep 2014 and its current based on filing dates as per mar 2026 Visa bulletin.
He recently changed job , new employer will probably take sometime to start gc process.
Can the new employer directly file i485 to get ead / GC this month? Does he need to redo perm process and wait for it to get approved? then do I-140 & adjustment of status? plz advise
