H1B Extension DropBox - 221g - Can I apply again?

Hi,

I am eligible for DropBox for H1B extension, have been working for the same employer. I went to Chennai Consulate early Dec but my passport was returned unstamped and I was issued 221g and asked to come in for an interview when regular operations begin. Since we don’t know when regular processing will begin and they have now extended drop box eligibility up to Marc 31st now, is it advisable for me to start over and select a new drop box date?

Well, they already gave you a 221g asking for you to come back once they open consulates. You trying again to bypass their guidance may or may not work. The reason is they would track your status. Unless, it is a new employer, new job role, there may not be different outcome. Discuss with your attorney on this.
