I have a dropbox H1b appointment scheduled for the first week of January. I was planning to travel to India in December. But looks like I may have to file an extension/amendment. If I opt for consular processing can I still go to the existing dropbox appointment with my I797B instead of I797A? or Do I have to attend an in person interview?
I would suggest filing extension of status with premium processing so you can still keep your dropbox as is. You just need to submit updated DS-160.
