H1B California Center Filed on May 21 2012 and Still 'Initial Review' ?

My H1B is accepted on May 21st 2012 with California Service Center and still it is in “Intital Review” Status. What the normal processing time?

Few of my collegues who filed even 3-4 weeks after mine already either got approved or at least asked for RFE. When I can expect an update in my case. Also is there any way to ask USCIS to ask for an update?

USCIS initial response can take anytime from 2 to 6 months.
