H1B breach of contract

I’m a H1B worker, after i accepted another offer from a company no related to my employer; my former employer started a lawsuit against me for breach of contract. In my employment agreement, there is not any information about liquidated damage. He is seeking a ridiculous amount of money as penalty. When I asked him about where this amount comes from, because there is not any liquidated damage clause in my contract, he literally said that “we don’t have to put those details in the contract”.

Only thinking about this give me the perception he is completely wrong about it, and instead trying to get as much money as he can out of me. I already have a lawyer working on my case; I just want to know the experience of any of you that have gone through a similar situation. Any feedback will be appreciated.

What happened in this case later?
