H1-B status-Immigration Authority - WP/Petition Approval Pending

Hi Friends,

I am working in Top MNC in Mumbai.My Visa status changed to ‘Selected in Lottery’ last week and now showing status ‘Immigration Authority -WP/Petition Approval Pending’ , does any one know what’s the meaning of this.Also I havn’t received any receipt number yet.

And are there any chances of rejection ?

This is a status message used internally by your employer. Better to ask your employer about this, or may be other employees in your firm can help.

Thnx for the update, till when we can expect to receive Receipt Number .
And regarding my Visa, what will be the next step i.e can it be denied without RFE stage

Employer already knows the receipt number. It is up to them when to share it with you. Usually they either approve it outright or issue RFE first, and then approve/deny it based upon RFE response.
