H1-B Consular Processing

I have below questions after H1-B petition has been approved for consular notification.

  1. Can I change jobs before stamping i.e (activating h1-b) ?
  2. What happens to approved h1-b petition if I get laid off before stamping i.e (activating h1-b) ?

Thanks

Sure you can. I am assuming you are on a different status ( H4 EAD or OPT) working with the employer who filed H1B petition with consular processing. If you leave your current employer, they may withdraw the H1B petition.
The new employer can file cap-exempt H1B petition.

As I mentioned once you leave the H1B sponsoring employer, they must withdraw the H1B petition.
