Along with my spouse, the validity of my current stamped visa (H-4) ended early September 2023. My spouse’s H-1B extension petition has been approved while my H-4 extension petition is still pending with the USCIS.
Due to challenges in scheduling appointment together with the primary applicant, based on service desk representative’s advice, I created a separate profile for myself. Currently, the dropbox appointments for myself and spouse are scheduled at the same date and time.
Would I be fine with just my spouse’s approval notice if my visa application is processed separately or is there a possibility to request at the VAC to merge our applications and send it for processing together? Should I consider rescheduling my appointment until after my spouse’s passport with new H-1B stamp is available?
Appreciate inputs from anyone with similar experience recently. Thanks!
