got 221g pink slip on 9th april2013 no visa update yet need help

Hi,

I went for my H4 Visa stamping on 9th april 2013 and was issued a 221g pink slip saying administer process retaining my passport. Its been 5 weeks now but i still have not received any response from the consulate.

Need help to know how long is the wait usually or is there anything i need to do to speed up the process.

Usually its 4-5 weeks, but it can go longer. May be your H1’s employer didn’t respond on time or USCIS is not processing so fast. Talk with your H1’s employer to see if they received / their client received any enquiry.
