First Time Travel Close to H1B Expiry

Hi,

My H1B from company “A” got approved and stamped in 2013. I work for company “B” in Europe at the moment and going to join company “A” in USA soon. Now, my Visa is is valid for 3 more months and by the time I travel to US it will be valid only for two more months more.

1> Will I face any issue at Post of Entry? Company “A” will be filing for an extension as soon as I arrive in the US.

2> Can I travel directly from Europe (UK) ?

  1. No issues. They would issue I-94 based on current petition. If asked, you can say that employer plans to file extension soon after. It would be a good idea to get a letter from employer stating the same.
