F1 VISA STAMP STILL VALID SO DO I NEED VISA STAMP AGAIN?

Hi,
I came here as a f1 student then i changed on f2(in my wife’s university) now i applied for COS again for f1 in same university got approved from USCIS. my visa stamp (f1) still valid till 2014(old one) but my i20 changed ( sevis # changed)so do i need obtain new visa stamp if i will go out of united states and reenter.

Help needed

Practically you may be able able to return to USA with valid old visa.

But consulates in India insist that when you change University you should get fresh F1 stamped after coming to India.

Since you can return to USA without going to consulate it is up to you which option to exercise.

I personally recommend fresh visa stamping in India

but for f1 my university is same i changed my university for f2.so do you think still i need fresh visa stamp.there should be any problem if i will go for stamping ?

As per consulate, after changing the status in USA, from F1 to F2, old visa became invalid
When you go for fresh stamping yr case will be assesed fresh and decided on merit
