F1 VISA applying for aug-2015 intake

Hi All,

I have one query for my F1 VISA

I completed my Diploma in 6 years but actually it is designed for 3 years. Later I did my B.TECH and I completed in time with 62%. After completion of BTECH I started working for one of the IT firms and now I have 2.5 years of experience.

Planning to apply for F1 for this AUG-2015 intake. Here my question his, whether my Diploma will be red mark for me when I go for VISA INTERVIEW because i studied diploma for 6 years which is actually designed for 3 years.

What is the risk percentage for me?

Sric,

It totally depends on how you position it. You should be honest and explain your circumstances. You can turn that into and opportunity and state your passion to complete your education. It is very hard to tell what goes through the visa officer’s mind. You can always offset your low percentage with good scores in GRE and TOEFL and make your case stronger.
