Expired H1B - Is renewal possible from india?

Hi,

My H1B has expired on 02-Jul-12. Currently I am staying in India. I would like to know:

  1. If I can apply for a renewal of the visa from india. OR should i apply for a new visa

  2. If yes, what is the procedure for the same

  1. If your H1B was approved within last 6 years, you can renew it (H1B transfer or extension) without going through the cap.

    1. The procedure is same as applying for a new H1B. You need to find out company that can offer you a position in US and is ready to sponsor your H1B VISA.
