Whether employment verification letter required for first time H1b stamping, if so should I get if from my current employer in India or Petitioner from US.

it is always good to carry documentation that support your current situation and expected visa…
You should get both, one to indicate that you are a professional working in India and second you need the offer letter and other documentation from them that you will work for them on H1B.
