Earliest possible date to get H1-B stamped and enter US

Hi Saurabh - i have 2 questions for you.

  1. If my H1-B petition is approved in the month of May, 2013 with a start date of October 1, 2013, what is the earliest date that i could go for my visa stamping?

  2. If i am able to get my visa stamped as in question (1) above, can i enter the US before October 1, 2013?
