Hi. My spouse is in USA on H1B and i am in India. His company has applied for my H4 and I have requested the consulate asking for EA on family separation. How long does it take for approval/rejection of EA request. My spouse’s organization has not applied for a normal date but raised EA directly. Is that okay?
It may take 2 to 5 days for consulate to respond to your email about EA.
Its been 8 days and I haven’t received any notification yet. Do you think it is pending and as mentioned by the consulate will probably be taken up at a later stage when regular operations open? Also would you pls kindly let me know whether I have to fix a date first and then raise EA or just raise EA and wait for a response? Thanks
