Does I94 automation speeds up SSN processing?

Hello Sir/ Madam,

I have applied for COS from h4 to h1 and got my h1 approved on Oct 2013. As i was out of the country that time I didn’t get my I94. So my employer now applied COS for an already approved H1 and got I94. How long does it take to get the SSN? Should I wait for 10 days after I94 receipt date though I am in US?

Rad,

SSN issuance takes between 6 to 13 days once you have applied with the SSA office. If you have the I-94, it is valid immediately and there is no need to wait.
