Do child within 7 to 8 yrs age bracket has to appear for H4 VISA interview?

VISA appointment confirmation states that children (below 16 years) should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Does that mean my kid who is 7.5 years old has also to prepare for VISA interview, he however will be going with my Spouse for H4 VISA interview?

Also confirm do my younger kid of 2.5 years is exempt from attending VISA interview?:

Children below 14 yrs are not allowed inside the consulate.

Child below 7 yr gets Interview waiver

7.5 yr old child will have to go for fingerprinting but not Interview
