Dependant H4 receipt nos recieved but no update on H1B receipt nos

My company filed for my H1B and change of status for my wife to H4 on April 03 2017. I received the receipt number for my wife H4 application on 04/21, but my attorney says that they have not received any update on my H1B petition so far 04/27. Can some please advise that the above indicates of my h1b getting picked up or what it is?

Yes, your application might have been picked. But wait till your attorney gets the receipt notice from USCIS.

Its confirmed only when you get an official receipt notice through your attorney.
