I am trying to schedule and appointment for my H1B renewal and I am eligible for Dropbox. But wanted to know if I can still go for an in person interview, I don’t see any slots for Dropbox in the time favorable for me. I don’t have any emergency situation.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance
If you are eligible for the Dropbox (Interview Waiver) option for your H1B visa renewal, you are generally not required to attend an in-person interview. However, if you prefer or need to schedule an in-person interview due to unavailable Dropbox slots in your desired time frame, here’s what you can do:
-
Choose the In-Person Option During Scheduling: When booking your appointment on the U.S. visa application website (CGI Federal or the official embassy site), you can select the in-person interview option instead of Dropbox. The system will allow you to choose an interview slot.
-
Check Slot Availability Frequently: If you’re committed to using Dropbox but the slots are unavailable, regularly check the appointment system for cancellations or new slots. Availability changes frequently.
-
Reach Out to the Embassy/Consulate: If you can’t find a suitable Dropbox slot, contact the U.S. embassy or consulate where you plan to apply. They may offer guidance or help accommodate your situation.
-
Consider Timing Flexibility: If possible, adjust your timeline to align with available Dropbox slots to avoid the in-person interview altogether.
Remember, without an emergency, securing an in-person appointment may be more challenging since priority is given to urgent cases. However, the system generally accommodates individuals needing to renew or obtain visas in time-sensitive situations.
