Can postdocs work on L2 visa?

Hi,

I just completed my PhD from India and i am moving to the US with my husband who is an L1 visa holder.I am interested in doing a postdoctoral fellowship in the US and i wanted to know if L2 visa holders with EAD can do their postdoc? Or is a change to J1 mandatory?

Hi Anju,

A post doctoral fellowship award requires evidence that you are eligible to work in the US. So, yes - an L-2 EAD holder can work as a fellow without need to convert to J-1.
