Can i travel outside US on a valid I94 while H1-B extension is applied

Hi,

My employer has filed the H1-B extension which is in RFE status.
Current H1-B and i-94 is valid till 03-Dec-2015.Will the extension be void if i leave the country?
Can i travel to india on 07-Nov-2015 and come back once Visa stamped in India when it is approved.

Can you please help in this regard.

Your extension consists of 2 parts - 797 petition and I-94. If you leave US, your 797 will still be processed and extended. However, your I-94 extension is abandoned.

So you can leave US, wait for your 797 approval, get H-1 visa stamped and then return to US.
