can I change job before Oct 1, H1B approved?

Helo All,

i was going through the topics/forums related to my question above, however, I have a little awkward situation…

I am on H4 and my employer has not sent me any immigration docs. they say, they will send after joining…

can i look for another job and transfer based on my receipt no. which I do have?

i don’t want to lose this job and hence I am little skeptical about job search and all…

You can look for a new job. You cannot transfer based on your petition number. Wait until your petition is approval then you can ask your new employer to apply COS on your approved petition.

thanks for the ans… I already have my H1B approved, and employer has sent me a snapshot of the i797… but not the actual document
