Can H1B get rejected if any detail is incorrect in I-129

Hi,

My H1B petition got selected in this year’s selection process. I have just received I-129 filed by employer. I observed that they have made mistake for “Province of Birth”. My application has just selected. So can anyone confirm if it will have any consequences on petition being accepted or rejected. And what can we do to rectify the error?. I believe even if petition is selected, i need to change that detail on I-129. It would be great if anyone can help me with this.

Hi Kashyap,

There are no consequences - internal USCIS records are concerned only with country name, nothing else. This detail matters only during a CID inquiry but that is under special circumstances.
