Can Drop Box visa slot be changed to personal visa visit for the same DS160 and fee

Hello,

I am eligible for drop box until Dec 31,2021.
But, I am visiting India in Jan. I am unsure if drop box deadline extends beyond 2021.
So, wondering how do I book slot for visa stamping - whether dropbox or personal visit.

If I book dropbox and if the US embassy extends dropbox deadline, I would be good.
If not, will I be able to change dropbox visit to in person for the same DS160 and payment receipt.

I think you will need to cancel dropbox appointment and schedule the interview. Note that the same MRV fee receipt can be used 5 times to reschedule appointments.

You may contact VFS and check if their system supports changing already booked appointment from dropbox to interview.
