Birth Certificate problem while applying for green card

Hi,

My birth certificte is required for the green card application. The problem is that my Passport only has the name of the district I was born into. It doen’t contain the name of the village that is printed on my birth certificate. The district is same but only the name of the village is missing on my passport. Will there be any problem due to this. If it is a problem then what can be the solution.

Akash,

You must get an alternate date of birth document from Indian Embassy in US that controls your jurisdiction. It is a standard service - maybe they ask for some money these days.

Can u plz provide some more details regarding what do I need to ask the Indian Embassy and what kind of documents do I need to provide at that time. Is this complex or a general phenomenon.
