I read through the experiences posted here so thought I’d share my moms visit visa experience
I applied for a US visit visa for my mom in 2022 and we only got an interview slot in 2024. She wanted to visit her brother and me.
We had to redo the DS160 at the biometric center since its been more than a year since we filed the application.
After that, during the visa interview - the VO asked my mom for her brother’s passport copy and my dads US visa once she said he will be accompanying her. She didn’t have her brother’s passport copy but had my dads US visit visa copy.
Her passport was taken at the consulate so she will probably get the visa
