b1 visa rejected 4 years back fr lower salary filed in ITR,wud it affect my next try?

Hi All,

i was rejected B1 visa 4 years back. the questions were …

  1. are you married ?
    No
  2. did you travel outside india before ?
    NO
  3. how long you have been working in current company ?
    3 months
  4. can i see your latest ITR ?
ITR shows 2.5 lacs salary (actually i had 2 form16s that year but i filed only one of them, so it was low. actually it should have been around 5Lacs)
  5. he asked about the current salary ?
1 lac/ month. the new company gave me a good hike.
  6. he asked you have got more than thrice hike in new company ?
i said, yeah. my company gives salaries equal to US employees. so thats why.
  7. visa got rejected.

i am applying for B1/B2 second time after 4 years. now, i have filed ITRs correct for the past 4 years ( that is suitable for ~20lacs/annum)
i am married for 2 years, with close to 4.5 years in company.

does my previous ITR in 2010 would still affect this time ?

should i consider filing an extension to my 2010 ITR now by adding the missed form16 before ?

Your previous B1 rejection will have a “financial” code reason in computers. Make sure you take letter from company that confirms your present pay, documents that describe reason for travel to US and your most recent income tax return.
