Hi, is there any chance of applying for an H1B FY2017 visa now? I see that the H1B 2017 lottery was done in April 2016, so does that mean I have to wait for H1B FY2018 to begin?
Let me clear your confusion first. For H1B2017 visa application you are supposed to submit your petition before 1st Apr 2016. Its known as FY2017 because fiscal year in USA always starts from Oct to Sep. That’s why its considered as FY2017. And yes that time is over. But you are on perfect time to start your process for H1B2018. For applying H1b in FY2018, your deadline to submit your petition is 1st Apr 2017.
