Hello everyone!
I’m planning an Alaska cruise from Seattle that stops in Victoria, Canada. My H1-B visa stamp is expired, but I have a new H1-B (I-797) approval. This should fall under the AVR (Automatic Visa Revalidation) rules. However, my I-94 on the CBP website states I can re-enter until June 2024.
Has anyone experienced this or have advice on this situation? If you can share your experience with the Seattle cruise port and CBP.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
The I-94 attached to the new I-797 approval notice will override the I-94 issued by CBP on your last entry in the US, so you should be good.
Thank you Kalpesh, for the confirmation.
I’ve heard that AVR can be challenging with CBP officers for re-entry.
Have you been in a similar situation, or any helpful advice you can provide would be great helpful.
Thanks!
CBP should be aware of AVR, so I wont worry much.
Ok, Understood. Thanks again.
