221(g) Green Slip Mumbai - Received Email to submit Passport

My H1-B stamping visa interview was on the 8th of October 2013. They said the system was missing a soft copy of the invitation letter and so i needed to send it via email ASAP. I did that and received the following email from them after 5 days:

 Case Reason:

 Submission of Documents

 Public Response:

 Dear Applicant,

We are ready for final processing. Please submit your passport, copy of I-129, and pending letter to the Consulate General via any of the 11 document delivery locations. Please visit [www.ustraveldocs.com/in](http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in) for more information. Please carry a copy of this email for ready reference.

 Sincerely,
 Consular Information Unit

Now on the 221(g) they have mentioned to check the PDF file here [http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/case-status.html](http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/case-status.html) to check for my CEAC case number. I have been looking at it since 3 days but my number is not updating there.

So should i wait until my number comes up there? or should i submit my passport based on the email? I am very confused. I do not want it to get delayed if i send the passport without my number coming up in the case status file. PLEASE HELP!

You should submit the documents based on the email. The consulate usually informs the candidates about passport submission through the PDF file. But they can also send direct emails asking for the documents.

So go ahead w/ the submission.

Payal25,
Were you asked for any other details more than invitation letter? What color of 221g was issued? Please help. I have been issued green 221g asking for invitation letter and some more details like resume, travel plans, purpose of statement etc.
