h1b applied last year and from june 2015 it was showing the status as “Request for evidence was mailed”
and my employer is saying he sent the docs by sept 2015 it self.

Employer should call USCIS and clarify. It maybe a system issue that they didn’t update the status or your package may never have been received. Employer can clarify that with USCIS
