Work evaluation required for H1B stamping ?

Hi Saurabh,

I have got my H1B petition approved for this year . I have a B.E. in Mechanical engineering , but my petition has been applied for an IT position , i have genuine 7 yrs of experience in IT. Now for stamping do i need to get a work evaluation done as a backup if asked in the consulate about my degree ?

I also have a B1 and H4 visa , but dont want to enter on them and do a COS to avoid getting questions on my intent of arrival . Would these give me a weightage during my stamping ?

You should carry experience letters and reference letters from old employers/colleagues. I don’t think it should be an issue as it would have been reviewed by USCIS, but at times the consulate have a mind of their own.
